Yeah! I did an art project this weekend, and of course it is an owl canvas. It turned out well I must say so myself.

I felt it was missing something so I had to add.

Making Progress

I have made great progress in my craft room. All boxes are now empty. I have a lot or organizing to do but it is starting to look good. I am hoping to do a project tomorrow.
I hung some wall groupings in the entry way and hallway today. It takes me awhile to figure out how and where I want things to go. I still have some painting to do but I was tired of looking at bare walls. I am not in the painting mood these days so I will just take stuff down when I am ready to paint. At least they all have one coat on them and you have to look pretty close to see that they need a second coat.
Terry went with Keshia (our daughter) today to help her buy herself a new vehicle. He was pretty touched by her when she told him that she is so proud to call him her dad. He is her step dad but she has always considered him her dad.
Lashia is starting to say more and more words. I asked her what her name was and she says "Me" So cute! Hard to believe that she will be 2 years old in a couple of weeks.
Terry and I were going to go out tonight for supper but he was pretty tired when he got in. The radiation is starting to make him very very tired. So I cooked us some catfish, scallops, sweet potatoes and peas. It was very delicious. We had some wine and really enjoyed ourselves.  I had two glasses of wine and could not believe how tipsy I got.
Working on getting some audio books ripped to my computer so I can give the discs to my sister in law tomorrow. Love those audio books.

So Many Ideas

Well my craft room is starting to take shape. I just have a lot of organizing to do and a few more storage units to get moved in. I cannot wait to get started back. I have so many ideas that I don't know what one to start with. I guess I need to make Lashia's owl blanky first. Her birthday is in a few weeks. I have got the sewing bug going on now so I am going to get my sewing area set up first. I am going to be able to get my Etsy shop full of some great items.
Not feeling so good the last few days. I need to some medicine and take a nap this afternoon. I have a big day tomorrow (I just can't say what it is...I don't want to jinx it). I know that God has got this great plan for me and I have learned to let my worries go and let God take control. I am so excited and the my stress level from a few months ago to now is like from 10 to about a 4 now. I am working on getting it even lower.
I will really promote my blog once I get back in the crafting and sewing mode and I am even going to get a website up too.
Life is good and God is great!

Childrens Glider Chairs ... Country Corner Woodworks and Crafts

We made these gliders for the the grand daughters Riley and Dyani back in 2001 for Christmas. It was a lot of work and took a lot of time to do these, but it was well worth it. They turned out just beautiful.

Welcome Country Cow Sign

We saw this cow in an ice cream shop in Myrtle Beach. I took a picture of it and came home and designed it. I think it turned out really cool.

Adirondack Chairs by Country Corner Woodworks and Crafts

Adirondack chairs are our specialty in our wood shop business. We have made many and they last forever. You wouldn't think a wood chair is comfy but they are very comfy.

This chair we decided to do a paint stain on it. turned out pretty nice.

We also do child size Adirondack chair sets

The painted style became our most popular style.

Lawn Swing by Country Corner Woodworks and Crafts

This is a lawn swing that hubby and I made (with a little help from my Dad). We made this several years ago when we first got into the woodworking.

My Owl Obsession

Ok here is my latest owl find. I have come to love owls thru my sweet grand daughter, Lashia. I had bought a ceramic owl at a yard sale just because it was so cute. I sat it up on a shelf and almost forgot about it. One day when Lashia was just a baby ( not sure but she was under a year old) she noticed the owl and was scared of it. So each day I would take it down and let her get to know it better. Come to find that it was a music box owl. I would wind it up and sit her on the floor with it and pretty soon she started to give it hugs and kisses. Owl was also the first word she could really say well and the HooHoo sound too. Needless to say she loves owls and her mommy did her room in owls and her and I are now Owl crazy!

January 06, 2012

Yeah we have internet at the house now. So now I can sit in my chair at night and go blog crazy! I have been working on my craft room this evening. I moved a bunch of stuff over from the other house and started to sort and organize. I cannot wait to have it all done and start to craft and sew again. My poor hubby will have to come visit me in my craft room to spend time with me.
Speaking of hubby he had his 3rd radiation treatment today...just 41 more to go. So far it has been going good and no side effects yet. They say after about 2 weeks the side effects can or will start to show up. We are going to Kmart tomorrow to get an exercise bike. They say exercise will help you feel better during treatment of prostate cancer.
I think I will post some pictures of some of my past crafts.

Time To Start Blogging Again

Well we fianlly have moved into the house. It has been a very hetic 4 months of pure frustration and worries. But now that we are in the house it is so wonderful. It is like a great weight has been lifted from us. We still have a bunch of stuff to move and get organized, but the main stuff is all in and put in its proper places. Still have painting to do beings I fired the painters after they decided to just show up at their leisure and not be having been done when we were moved in (the week of Christmas).
We had Christmas eve and Christmas day at our house. It was very quiet and had a good time with family.
I am so excited to be able to have some time to myself (with hubby) and do our own thing. I still don't have internet but will hopefully on Friday. Have started organizing my craft room and have so many ideas of thing to start making. Grand babies birthday is in a month and I have a few things I am going to try to have made for her.
Hubby starts radiation for prostate cancer this week. So this is our next hurddle to overcome. We take it one day at a time and pray for God to see us thru this and to take the worries from our hearts. When we go to the cancer center is is an eye awaking experience. The people are all so nice and I enjoy sitting and listening to others stories. They are all so upbeat and so friendly.
I am going to keep up my blog this time. Post pictures of my crafties and try to post some tutorials too. I am going to put together before and after pictures of the house too.
